All To Jesus Christ ... (Part 2)

... Through His Mother's Heart πŸ’™

Hello!

As I said in my last post, here I am, to continue the gist of my relationship with Mother Mary.

I honestly feel blank at the moment.

How do I start this narrative? How do I explain how I began to see Mary not just as the Mother of Jesus Christ but also as my Mother?

How do I explain why I honour Her and Pray to Her?

Well, it all started with a Search. In my search, I decided to open up my heart to God Almighty. I wanted to understand the Word - Jesus. I honestly sought Wisdom and Wisdom led me to the seat of Wisdom - The one who carried Him for 9 months, the one whom He took flesh and blood from, the one who He created and was perfectly Human. In addition to the Holy Scriptures, God led me to His Mother - Mary, to get me to see Him through Her eyes. Note: Mary is the mother of Jesus - God, the Son.

Mary - My Mother In-Spirit

When I wrote 'in-Spirit', I wanted to write 'in-law', but I paused. In-law makes it look like a relationship that is bound to earth which like every other thing here, has an end. Her Motherhood is for eternity and I intend to treasure it as such. I am certain that I have written in previous posts that God Almighty reveals Himself best to me as a 'Lover'. I could be on a plane, staring out the windows, looking at the clouds and the majesty of the blue skies and feel love. I can't explain it but it is usually a warm and comforting sort of feeling ... the way you would feel safe in the arms of the one who you know would do everything in his/her power to keep you safe and happy. Well, Jesus Christ - God literally died for me so hey! I am in the right arms!

So, I believe I reached a point in my life where I wanted to earnestly learn how to be good and well, better, for the One who has given me so much and loves me to eternity. I imagine Him smiling and whispering in my ear, "You want to please me? okay, go meet my immah (Immah is the Aramaic word for Mother) and learn."

In a typical Nollywood setting, this would mean WAR. Ah. The mother of your love πŸ˜…. It would feel like going to war to win his affection over his mum. But with Mother Mary, this is not the case. In my little walk with Her, She joyfully prepares one to be the best version of themselves which is achieved by pleasing Her Son - Jesus Christ as depicted at the wedding at Cana.
"Do whatever He tells you.John 2:5
Bearing these words of guidance within one's heart, it only makes absolute sense to learn from Her - who was not only the Mother of Jesus but His first Disciple.  She had perfectly achieved union with God by pleasing Him in every way.

Mary the Perfect Human

Mary is not God. She is a Human being who achieved union with God perfectly while She was on earth, at a young age. The greeting from the Angel is one which was addressed to Her and only Her. She was/is so perfect that She was chosen to be the One who would carry God Himself. She was/is the Living Ark of God! She was/is the Visible throne of the Invisible God. Let me try to explain myself well when I say She is Perfect.

Remember the book of Exodus (Chapter 25:10-22), do you see the level of details handed to Moses by God for an Ark (a seat) for God's presence to come and be with His people? Let me explain further, this state of the art building was to house God's presence. It was so sacred and special that it had numerous gates and required various rites to be done before approaching it. Not just anyone could go near it. Remember the story of Uzzah?😞 Yup, the man struck by God for his rashness in ignoring the reverence due to the Ark in 2 Samuel 6.  God did not even allow King David (the man after His own heart) to build Him a dwelling place. Do you now get the drift of how perfect Mary must have been for God to have found Her worthy to dwell within Her?
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women - Luke 1:28

Mary - Humility Personified

If there is anything that moves the heart of God, It is a humble heart. Humility keeps the heart in a place of reverence before God Almighty, recognising that their being/possessions are as a result of God's goodness and Mercy, alone. Mary recognises that all the graces obtained, resulting in who She is - the Mother of God, is a gift from God. This is why She cannot be worshipped. True devotion to Her prevents us from crossing the line. She won't accept Worship. She exhibits this in the Magnificat - which was a response to the 'hailings' of Her cousin - Elizabeth (Luke 1:39 - 56). She returned all the Glory to God. She still does the same, today.

In humility, she recognised the request from God as a call to service rather than a call to assume a prestigious position. Hence her response, "I am the handmaiden of the Lord, be it done to me according to His words" luke 1:38).

I imagine God the Father beaming and the whole of Heaven rejoicing at Mary's response to the request of becoming the Mother of God - the Son. Let's not forget that Mary was not a robot. God did not tamper with Her will. He respects our will and will not force anything on us. Her submission to the Maker put into motion, God's plan for our redemption. Humility kept Her in a place of service - To God and to Her fellow Human beings (the visit to Elizabeth, the wedding at Cana and her presence with the Disciples after Jesus ascended to Heaven).

If I learn from Her, I would be able to grow in a place of true humility - that seeks to serve, always, just as Christ Jesus came into the world to serve. This sort of virtue which is the foundation of all other virtues would help me to remain at that lowly place where God's heart is drawn to. (Yay! I will become like a magnet to the heart of the One who loves me! Brilliant!!!😁😁😁).

Mary - The Perfect Mother

The Nurturing Mother (Source: Pinterest)

One fine public holiday, I set out to visit an old school friend of mine who had just had her baby at that time.  As soon as we were done greeting each other; I wanted to carry her little prince in my arms. As I held her baby, I panicked for a moment that I would break his fragile neck with the way I held him. She assisted in placing the baby well in the cradle of my arms while I positioned my back in an upright manner to ensure that the little prince was comfortable as he slept. With a few baby farts and squinting of the lashes, her little prince slept in my arms as we (the adults) chatted about everything we could think of.

A while later on, my friend said she could feel that her little prince was hungry and would soon wake up. I looked at him in my arms, bobo was still asleep. Surprised, I looked at her and asked how she knew, she replied; " I just know, I can feel it in my * mammary glands* (I am not using the word she used for viewers discretion purposes, LOL). I laughed and wondered like wow! What sort of connection exists between a mother and her baby that works better than my home wifi!... and then a word dropped within me... A mother could tell when her baby needed her provision for food even though the baby had not yet woken up to ask of it... This is an earthly mother's reaction, can you imagine the sensitivity of a Heavenly Mother?

So why would I want to deprive myself of a Motherhood that transcends earth?

I know how I feel pleasantly surprised when I am in a low mood and my earthly mum would call me out of the blue to find out if I am okay. I know how I feel so loved when she wants to fatten me up whenever I am around her, how she would want to help me get over whatever worries I may have at that moment or how she would use whatever funds I give her for herself, to buy things for me. A true mother literally empties herself out for her children. This is a woman who is flawed in her own ways, yet she always goes out of her way to make me feel special and puts my interest before hers.

Now, can you imagine what a perfect heavenly Mother could do for and with you? I guess you might be wondering how She became our mother. Well, She is the Mother of Jesus, and Jesus gave Her to us as our Mother to His beloved disciple and we are His beloved disciples.

"Behold thy Mother!" (John 19:27)

Mary - The Real & Merciful Queen

Mother Mary has achieved union with God perfectly, and from the little I know, She has only one interest in Her heart - that you and I be with Her Son in Heaven.  Most of Her messages (if not all), in Her apparitions (recorded appearances), is usually geared towards one main goal - All souls be saved. Isn't this the same as the will of God? (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

In true devotion to Her, the words in our Prayers are geared towards Her intercession. Just as She interceded for the couple at Cana (who did not even know that they had a problem), so we seek Her to intercede for us to Her Son, to save us from the things we might not even know that could lead to our shame or destruction.

... Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Yes, anyone can go straight to Jesus Christ. You don't have to go through His Mother to approach Him. But like I said earlier, God in His Wisdom, directed me to His Mother, and with each passing day, I see so many personal reasons why He allowed it to be so. I cannot explain it all in words, it is more of an experience that needs to be experienced. Mother has a way of guiding you as the Holy Spirit transforms you, almost feels like She is grooming you to become a beautiful bride for the Bridegroom.

In Conclusion

If the shadow of Peter (a once sinful fisherman) could heal the sick as a result of the anointing of the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:15), imagine then the great wonders that can be experienced through and with the one who is the Daughter of God the Father, the Mother of God the Son, and the Spouse of God the Holy Spirit. πŸ˜Š

I honour Her just as Christ Honours Her as His Mother. After all, God says 'Honour thy Parents' and She is my Mother.😝

Do not hesitate to know more about Her from Her. All you have to do is simply ask, with the right intention - To Seek/know the Truth.

May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, reign in our hearts and may the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in perfect peace, Amen.

#Shalom πŸ’™
